It was all hands on deck last week on the farm when the Combine Harvester got going to harvest the Wheat, then the Barley and finally the Oats.
We got the last of our Oats into the shed just as the rain drops began falling.The sheep can sleep easy now as their food for next year has been safely gathered in!
We try to be as self-sufficient as we can on our Farm.
We therefore grow Oats and Stubble Turnips for the sheep to munch on, Barley for the cows to devour and Wheat which provides us with good quality straw for bedding the animals down during the winter.
